My first wedding experience....

So today was the day of my very first wedding. I was an assistant to a super awesome photographer which made for a super awesome day;) I had the pleasure of hanging with the men for the morning,got some cool pictures then headed to the ceremony..with a couple of them.;) I have posted some pictures from the "getting ready" stage. I am actually quite surprised that I had the energy to edit these...I can't believe how tired I am!!lol. I am hoping to post a few others in the next couple of days;I just wanted to try and get a few up tonight!!

No idea what these flowers are called. My parents come over often and praise my garden;I accept this praise..even though I haven't done much. I planted this plant about 3 years ago and to my surprise it blooms this sweet smelling flower. So last night Emma and I were out in the yard,I decided to cut the flowers to give myself a beautiful bouquet in my kitchen. (FYI these flowers are pretty BUT ants seem to enjoy them as well)Well, Emma HAD to hold them and asked me to take her picture while holding them. She posed,she jumped up and down,she spun around all while demanding I take her picture..lol. "like this mommy" What have I created?lol.

I have found something comparable to eating chocolate!! Maternity shoots!! Seriously, I love,love,love doing them! Granted this is only numero 2 for me but for some reason I really enjoy it. So all you pregnant ladies out there...lets get out there and take some pictures!!!

J and S were super fun to hang out with! J is super beautiful! Thank you for letting me capture this special time in your life!! I found it hard to just pick a couple to post,actually I wish I could have put the entire set up. Enjoy!

My post before the "Beautiful family" was April!!! How bad is that?! For some unknown reason I am finding it super hard to keep this updated. I think that I get myself so busy that I forget? So after a couple months of some serious thinking I have decided I am raising my prices. It has taken me weeks to get the nerve to write this but after talking with many clients and friends I have decided that I need to do this. I look back at some of my pictures from a year ago and feel like I have learned so much and am starting to grow as a photographer:)

This weekend was super special..not just because of Valentines Day but my grandma turned 85!!
It was a super awesome day today and I am so happy that most of my family was there to celebrate with her:)
I wanted to post a picture of the cake my aunt made.....it is super amazing!! It is a basket of yarn....hand-made out of fondant...she always does an awesome job on her cakes (she does the wedding cakes for the nieces and nephews in the family) and thought I would share her "art" with you!!

OK I am making a commitment to myself to start this up again. I have wallowed in self pity for far too long...life must go on.
Tomorrow I am starting a project....365. I have been thinking of doing this for sometime but never got around to doing it. (not sure why) I am hoping that I will gain a bit of confidence in my pictures and myself as a amateur.
Also, I am super duper excited for the month of February!! I am starting to take some photography work shops!!! I KNOW this will help me!!! Can't wait:)
For a second tonight I was thinking of starting my own personal blog,then I woke up. I can't even keep up with this one!lol. ok so I guess I didn't really have a point to this post...everything is kinda everywhere but at least I blogged!!

I can't believe how bad I have slacked in the blogging department!! Actually the picture taking department also. I am still here...don't blame you people who have left....I have gone through a very rough time over the last little while. I don't get very personal on here and feel I need to save this blog for the business aspect of things. But what I can tell you is that my wonderful grandfather passed away a couple weeks ago after a very short battle with cancer. On top of this I am also dealing with some other things so it has made for a very poopy month or so. I have no urge to pick up a camera right now....it stares at me everyday though...lol. I am hoping once some time passes I will start feeling better and get back into the swing of things...but as of right now I need to take care of myself:)

OK, So I just realized today that it has been A LONG time since I posted. I have fallen behind with this blog thingy but still super fast with the turn around of my pictures!lol. Not too sure if anyone even reads this...if you do then sorry I have been MIA. I am trying to finish up what is on my plate right now and I am going to take a break from being so busy. I went to elementary school with S!! And here I am taking pictures of his beautiful family! Small world! It was another awesome fall day outside. I tried to coax little E with candy but didn't work so well. Note: E doesn't like Mike and Ikes!lol. All in all it was another successful shoot. I got to meet another great family! I love this job!

Upload any pictures!! The last 2 days it has told me the site is experiencing some problems...hopefully they will be fixed soon!!

I braved the cold today (so did a brave,brave family.lol) to take some pictures. It was the fastest shoot I have ever done:) It is getting too cold out.... and I don't have an indoor studio. What will I do this winter??I hope the weather holds up for another couple of weeks...so I can get all my bookings done!!

I took this picture today.....I don't know if its because its so late and I have been super busy all day with pictures but when I went through the pictures I did today I absolutley fell in love with this one!! Today was not a fun day. Stressful to say the least. I tend to stress out about things waaayyy too much. I have fixed my sizing problem but feel not so good about it:( Live and learn I was told today. So true.

This was my second time shooting Hailey. She is much bigger now and has the sweetest personality.Her parents are so much fun which made the shoot easy...and fun! Shawna had some great ideas ( I LOVE when people give me ideas...just a little FYI) These are your pictures:)
On a side note.....
I am going to call this shoot "The Poop Shoot". I showed up to the park beforehand to scope it out. I set my camera bag down and within seconds a bird came by and pooped on my bag. I didn't notice so I went to pick my bag up...you can imagine the mess.lol. So later while I was taking some pictures I noticed a foul smell....I had stepped and kneeled in dog poop. I couldn't stop though and miss my photo op:) The things I do..sheesh.lol.

Ok, so it has been a couple weeks since I got Photoshop CS3. It is not my best friend. We fight often.lol. it is driving me insane!! I look at some of my pictures and think I could do something to that...but then am I a photographer or a graphic designer? I know,I know, I should just suck it up and learn all these wonderful things PS has to offer me and my photos....I am just trying to find excuses not to use it. Everyone's doing it,right?
The set of pictures I am slowly working on will have some PSCS3 pics(lol) I can't wait to see if there really is a big difference....there should be with the amount of time I am spending on them! OK, vent over....back to the grind:)

I made Emma a TuTu today......This is now her new favourite outfit!! She danced in it all afternoon!! She wants to spin and spin....

This evening we watched Dancing with the Stars and every time they danced she would throw her tutu on...and when it was commercial she would take it off.lol. Then on again when they started to dance. What a girl. And just to clarify...she isn't a ballerina...she is a DANCER! (according to her) :)

The other night I decided to take Emma on a walk. It was beautiful outside! AND I have found the coolest and most awesome trails! Right here! In my back yard! Ok, so the last few days I have spent surfing the net on photography. Trying to teach myself or rather dream that one day I will be that good. I sit here and get so frustrated because I don't know how to get better without spending more money...(will photoshop make me better?will a $1600 lens make me better?) I don't know,well, actually, it probably would.lol. But I don't want that. I want to know how to use what I have and become better at what I do....I just don't know how to do that. I find it so nerve racking to go do a photoshoot because I don't really know how it will turn out....I can see it in my mind but then I get home and almost feel disappointed,frustrated...let down. (if you haven't noticed I am having a vent session) I wonder if finding a group or even a single photographer would help? Someone to take me under their wing and guide me. Maybe I need to put myself out there like that...look a little desperate for help?LOL.
I am just not having a good evening....just one of those things.

Ok I have FINALLY figured out how to post some music. I think it just gives it that extra touch:)
I have scoped out a new lens that I want but can't afford it. It costs more than my camera! I can't justify that...ok, I can, but I can't convince Terry. So I need to work my butt off. I want to save up for it on my own. So maybe in a couple of years!!!lol.I went over to Hailey's parents house a couple of weeks ago (Hailey is the first little baby I took pics of...my first "customer") and I was sooo amazed at the pictures she had on her wall. Now I don't mean to toot my own horn but jeez,those pictures looked so good! I haven't printed any pictures yet but might make a point of doing that. It was a definite confident booster! I can't complain about how many people comment on my photo's or the amount of people that have hired me this month to do their pictures. It is awesome! I am really looking forward to doing some outdoor pictures once the leaves turn color! I LOVE fall! I am really excited to share this months pictures with you:) I still feel like I am writing to myself though. Meh, it feels good to have a blog,read or un-read.
Ooooo...I do have exciting news,I think it is exciting....I finally have photoshop CS3! Yay me!!
And, I am trying to get something together for Halloween. It was a great idea over a cup of coffee with some fantabulous (and smart) friends!I will keep you posted and hopefully have it done in the next couple of weeks....to share....and start taking appointments!

I had the privilege of taking pictures of my dear friend Koren and her growing family. I ended up in Leduc again...that park seems to be quite popular !lol . It was a beautiful evening and I had a great time!! It was my first "family" experience and I think they turned out great!! You have a beautiful family Koren!! Hello!!!
I am still here! I have been soo busy the last month I haven't even picked up my camera! how bad is that? My sister got married and I was host to 3 wonderful guys from New Zealand. It was a wonderful (but busy 2 weeks). The kiwis left for home last night so my life is slowly getting back to normal.I hope I can take advantage of the next month of summer and get some great outdoor shots:)

I charge $50. It includes me coming to your house (or where ever you would like the pictures taken)it takes me about 1-2 hrs,depending on how much we talk.lol. I will give you a CD of the pictures (which is anywhere between 50-100 pictures,25 of those will be edited)so you can print what you like;)

Ok,its really late,but I needed to get this finished tonight. I posted on facebook and I am so nervous for people to see it.
I just wanted to say something.....did any of you watch The Biggest Loser this season? Do you remember what the winner said about seeing herself winning? If not..she said that when she got on the show she knew she was going to be the biggest loser,she could see it in her head...what it was going to be like,even what she was going to wear at the finale. Even when she was voted off she said she was going to be the biggest loser.....and she did come back and she did become the biggest loser....I am going somewhere with this...lol. Lately I have had the same feelings about being a photographer.For once in my life I love doing something. I love how it makes me feel,and I love hearing that people love their pictures. I especially loved being with Shawna and her mom when they first looked at Hailey's pictures...just the reaction they had to something I had done for them. It felt so good!
SO....I am going to be a photographer,I even have my outfit picked out!!

I don't want to call myself a photographer....What is a photographer anyway? It sounds too professional and I don't think I can use that term just yet.....I take pictures. I am a picture taker....this is why I don't have a business card yet. I don't just want to tag photography after my name (even though I did on here.hahaha) and I think "Jaimey Lynn Picture Taker" sounds dumb.
